Happy Thanksgiving

Early greetings I know, but Evelyn and I are headed over the river and through the woods.... Les will be holding down the fort. I am not sure if I will be able to post from my parent's house so this will be it for awhile. When we get back we will have lots of pictures and stories, I am sure.
I hope everyone gets completely stuffed on turkey and that no one has to do the cleaning up, that we all get a nap after the feast and that every one's football team will win. OK, I know that SOMEONE in each house will have to do the dishes but it's kind of like wishing for world peace, it would be so nice for everyone.
In the pictures above, you can see Evelyn scrambling across her Papa in order to get away form the Giant Turkey From Hell! She is so funny - she does not like those big balloon-y things at all and will do whatever it takes to avoid them. This may have something to do with the fact that last year around Valentine's Day, we were out shopping, and I parked our cart right next to what seemed to be a large, empty box. Then I stepped away from the cart and when I did, this huge, leering pink and red bear sprung up out of the box and sort of swayed above her.OK by the time I look back (I was involved in a heated discussion about candy with my sister and the first time this thing popped up, Ev was just able to let out a little squeak, so I wasn't aware of the extreme-ness of the moment), Ev looks a little weird but I continue my discussion about peanut butter hearts versus all chocolate ones when...... "AAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!! MAAAAMMAAA HHEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!" rips through the air - I turn around(Ev was seriously RIGHT behind me and yet I was unaware of the huge balloon animal- amazing) and Evelyn is sitting there, white faced and completely freaked out as this balloon bear is wavering above her smiling (malevolently in her mind) and bobbing in the store's a/c. I got her away from there as quick as I could and tried to explain that it was just a big balloon and it was cool, though she would not fall for this and still, to this day, has a distrust of anything balloon-y. So the turkey picture was "fun" to take, and I had forgotten to tell Les this story so he thought that she was just being wiggly and I finally had to say " no that turkey is scaring the shit out of her. It's rough to be a kid sometimes......
Oh my sister and I settled on pb hearts- they are , after all far superior to any other V-day candy and she finally saw the light. And I know that this was a Thanksgiving post and I told a story about Valentine's Day but that's just how I am.
