The Salmon of Doubt

Last week we had salmon for diner. Delicious, fresh and tasty salmon. My favorite thing on the planet to eat. Only I had to BUY it from a store instead of fish it out of Kachemak Bay - so it wasn't all that perfect - but it was still very tasty.
There we were, ready to sit and partake. I called Ev "Ev come and get your salmon"
"Mama this is fish not salmon"
" Ev it is a type of fish called salmon so it's okay to say either word"
She looked at me with a skeptical tilt to her head.
It was on.

We repeated that same conversation for three days. Repeatedly.
Let me repeat myself. Three. Days.
That's what I said. Tres Dias.  Drei Tage.  Tre Giorni. Trois Jours. Drie Dagen.

I am not sure I ever convinced her. I think she wrote me off as a lost cause.
